The legendary athlete, two times Olympic champion, the only man to have run the marathon in under 2 hours reveals that his best philosophy is that one percent of the whole team, is more crucial than 100% of himself, that’s teamwork.


He values team work more than anything else and his training is weaved around three principles: simple, focused, and hard work. He trains at Kaptagat in the Kenyan highlands, that lies at altitude of 2500m above sea level.

The training drafted by coach Sang mainly involves a morning and an
afternoon workout over the course of 5-6 days which is typically:
One long run (30-40km), Several slow runs, Two core sessions, One strength and conditioning daily and one or two Fartlek sessions (speed session on track). He is also very simple despite being among the most recognized athletes in the world.
